Wissam Adib

I help senior leaders navigate the complexity of leading teams, driving change, and achieving results in high-stakes environments.

My clients are senior leaders in the public and private sectors who carry big ambitions and even bigger responsibilities. Many are building organizations and legacies that didn’t exist a generation ago.

One of my clients was a senior leader brought into a major bank as part of a employee nationalization program. While technically strong, he faced interpersonal and intercultural friction with his colleagues, and his future in the organization was uncertain. Through coaching, we created a space to examine how his behavior and mindset were shaping how he was perceived, and to experiment with new ways of leading. He became more intentional, more curious, and more effective in navigating difficult dynamics. As a result of this, he was selected to become the next CEO.

Spending 20 years designing and leading change at the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic and ambitious governments in the world has had a profound impact on how I see effective leadership and organizations. In addition, studying leadership and organizational psychodynamics at INSEAD under Roger Lehman and Eric van de Loo was a transformational experience that completely changed the way I see myself and the world, and helped me consolidate and make sense of my professional experience.

Individuals, teams and organizations committed to being in authentic connection with themselves, their customers/target audience.

“The eye cannot see itself, it needs a mirror. Being coached by Wissam is like looking into that mirror and seeing yourself, maybe some aspects of yourself for the first time, with the good and the bad. As he raises the mirror, he skillfully finds that fine balance between telling the naked truth and taking care of you. You are vulnerable, yet you feel safe. Then he helps you find out what you want to change in that reflection and how. A powerful experience.”

Coaching Client

My work begins with curiousity. I often use assessments and interviews to better understand the context and help clients see more clearly, but clients set the direction. I offer a mirror, supported by reflections, frameworks and experiments that help clients test new ways of leading, relating and making decisions. I bring both a strategic lens and a deep respect for the human side of leadership. I offer a calm, reflective space to explore what’s needed next, paired with a deep belief in my clients’ ability to achieve far more than they think possible.

I draw from a wide range of methods depending on the client’s context and goals. This includes stakeholder interviews, 360 assessments, shadowing, and diagnostic tools (e.g. Leadership Circle Profile, Center for Creative Leadership, KDVI  toolkit, and team effectiveness instruments).

I use frameworks from system-psychodynamics, organizational behavior and adult development to help clients navigate complexity.

Colleague

I’m a husband and father of three, and my family is the center of my universe. I’m also someone who needs stillness. So you might find me in quiet reflection over a cup of coffee, sitting for hours immersed in a book, or out for a long-distance run.

Executive Master, Consulting and Coaching for Change, INSEAD, Certified Leadership Circle Profile, Certified Center for Creative Leadership, Certified Team Effectiveness Survey.

My role is to walk alongside, not to lead my client’s journey. I work with people who are committed to growth, and avoid engagements where there is little appetite for learning or change. Having said that, I coach the whole client, not just the professional persona they bring to the workplace.
