Ali Niederkorn

I help clients find ground, discover options, make meaning, and open possibilities in the midst of ambiguity, challenge, and next frontier personal and professional growth.

Leaders seek my partnership when they are scaling their leadership, are trying to think and act in more creative ways, identifying blindspots, extending their influence, and learning to shift their inner operating system to scale themselves for bigger and more complex challenges.

Many clients have come to me in moments of significant transition – that may be taking on a bigger role than ever before, preparing for a new direction, navigating a more complex challenge space, or reaching an ending without a sense of what’s next. In each of these cases, we benefit from taking a step back, putting on new lenses through which to view the opportunity, understanding what growth is needed to make the next best move, and how to increase wisdom while nudging forward. I serve as a partner to shed light, to open the aperture, to offer new perspectives and provocations, and to help structure the process of moving in the desired direction.

A typical coaching engagement will often include meeting every other week for 60-90 minutes via virtual session across 6 months. Those sessions are a mixture of reflection, exercises, and action planning. Engagements also often include an assessment phase at the start gathering feedback via 360 or other assessment instruments. We set clear goals and expectations from the beginning and iterate as we go. Engagements may also include in-person working sessions, opportunities for observation, incorporating external experts, and facilitated conversations with key stakeholders.

I am a certified Hudson Coach and Professional Coach with the International Coach Federation. Each of these institutions informs my standards of practice, ethical guidelines, and the core competencies. I also bring multiple certifications in assessment tools, facilitation of Immunity to Change, and an array of business, adult development, and complexity tools/frameworks.

From an early age, I have been a seeker – of truth, of the bigger picture – often asking more “why” questions than “how.” I have always been deeply impacted by my teachers along the way and felt called to support others in their development. My view of development is informed by a whole human perspective – our impact in the world is shaped by our presence, cognition, emotions, body, connections, and beliefs. In my work I draw from my practice and teaching in learning sciences, psychology, neuroscience, yoga, mindfulness, and mystical spirituality. Along the way I’ve had the privilege of working across academic, corporate, government and social impact sectors serving leaders in many functions and in many parts of the world. My view of leadership is largely shaped by reporting to innovative and courageous leaders, consulting to organizations navigating transformational change, supporting leaders through a wide array of leadership and management development programs, and 1:1 coaching engagements working through development challenges that transcend personal/professional distinction.

It’s difficult to overstate the impact she has had on my personal growth and development. Her insight and guidance helped me navigate growing responsibilities, challenging team dynamics, personal growth goals, and more. I’ve worked with multiple coaches over the years, picking up bits and pieces of insight from each. The extended engagement with Ali has been one of the most formative of my career.

I am a facilitator, coach, consultant, designer across clients who have leadership development and organization development needs.

I’m still a seeker – I love to absorb wisdom from many domains, especially the Mystics across religions. I’m an aspiring healer – growing sensibilities in trauma-informed support and infusing that in my coaching and teaching. I’m a practitioner of yoga, meditation, and contemplative traditions. I am a lover of nature, hiking, being on the water, taking in wildlife at play, and traveling to new cultures. I am a devoted friend, partner, and family member. I am an avid  consumer of film, podcasts, books about people realizing deeper truths, confronting their inner demons, surviving significant trials, and reflecting the beauty of the human spirit.

The boundaries are often determined on a case-by-case basis in partnership with my clients, in addition to the ethical boundaries I maintain as an organizational consultant and executive coach. I also try to maintain healthy boundaries in my work overall by preserving key blocks of time for rest and reflection.
