Nic Maisano is an executive leadership coach who specializes in working with executives and their teams facing complex business or team effectiveness challenges. He brings a strong belief that greater effectiveness can be had by leveraging and integrating the practices of wisdom traditions, in ways that both amplify results and make teams more resilient over time.

Nic has worked closely with c-suite executives for 20 years, supporting the development of high functioning teams, strategic business insights, and the creation of operational scaffolding necessary to deliver results.

Building and sustaining effective teams is critical to being competitive in human capital intensive industries, where sustainable business advantage only occurs when teams are operating effectively.  Successfully leading teams in this environment requires developing new skills and mindsets that often break from historical paradigms of leadership, instead emphasizing team learning through the development of appropriate organizational habits and principles.

Nic approaches his work with a client-centric mindset, meeting leaders and their teams where they are. He approaches the practice of team effectiveness from an analytical and research based perspective to identify the best tools for the job, and to ensure credibility with the highly analytical clients he works with.

Nic worked at Google for 10 years, working as an executive coach and leadership team sherpa.  He worked with executives in the technical organization, supporting them in leadership development, creating effective teams and the operations necessary to solve some of the world’s most challenging problems. Prior to that, he worked at Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy, designing and implementing growth and market entry strategies, as well as cultural transformations. He now works with select c-suite executives who are committed to developing themselves and their teams as they create positive change in the world.

Nic has a BA in Philosophy from Columbia University. He is trained in ontological coaching, developmental coaching, organizational and relationship systems, internal family systems and has certifications to lead and administer the Search Inside Yourself program, MBTI and EQ-i 2.0 tools.

Outside of work, Nic lives with his wife and two kids in the foothills of Portola Valley, California – right outside the heart of Silicon Valley.
